Parents and the moral upbringing of sons
Keywords:

Currently, few parents put moral education among the main goals of upbringing. Reality confirms that a lack of formation in this aspect may jeopardize efforts made in other dimensions of upbringing. The formation of moral sensitivity is particularly important in relation to boys, because girls usually show greater interest in the moral sphere than boys. The starting point in moral education is the awareness that teaching sons to distinguish good from bad is, in fact, teaching them to distinguish between happiness and unhappiness. Moral sensitivity and a righteous conscience are effective protection against everything that prevents us from enjoying life. In practice, morality is about distinguishing between those behaviors and interpersonal relationships that lead to joy and those behaviors and relationships that lead to harm and suffering. The most important form of moral education is the behavior of parents in accordance with their adopted moral standards and the hierarchy of values.
