Love and suffering

Abstract

The Bible states that man is a child of God-Love. It is the result of a meeting with him who is love and that will never stop loving us. The God who loves us like his own children, calls everyone to a lifeof joyful holiness. Yet each of us are experiencing not only the love and joy, but also the harm and suffering. We differ only proportions between the experience of love and the experience of suffering. This paper consists of four parts. The first part isan attempt to identify the main sources of suffering. The second part concerns the relationship between the distorted visions of love and suffering. The third part concerns the question whether suffering can also occur when a man loves a mature way. Finally, Chapter IV, the last, the practical applications, on the relationship between love and suffering.
