Abstract

The basic biblical commandment, repeated consistently in the Old and New Testament, the commandment of love of neighbor. Jews and Christians are called to it, to love our neighbor as much as it trying to love myself. Because no man is perfect and not always love yourself in a mature manner, in the Gospel of Jesus gives a new criterion for charity. This criterion is not it, how a man loves himself, but that is how Jesus loved us first. The God who made man, making him the ultimate measure of man's love for man.
