Abstract

Man is not capable of understanding who he is or what he lives for if he looks at himself only through the prism of the psyche and the body. In fact, all human beings are similar to each other in these two spheres. Extreme differences in the attitudes of individual people result from differences in the degree of their maturity in the spiritual sphere. It is our spirituality that makes us radically different from animals and capable of making conscious decisions and love. The spiritual sphere integrates and protects humanity from the dictatorship of the body, emotions and subjective beliefs. Thanks to spirituality, man becomes capable of meeting God and thus of knowing His love for us and His truth about us. Spirituality makes us human beings i.e. beings that are able to love and become more and more like God.
